First Open Heart Society of Campbell River helps purchase echocardiography machine.

The First Open Heart Society – Campbell River Chapter has made a generous donation of $20,000 to support the purchase of the latest Echocardiography Machine for our Heart and Lung Department at the Campbell River Hospital.
This state-of-the-art equipment employs high frequency waves to provide essential diagnostic capabilities, significantly enhancing cardiac care at our facility.
By positioning a transducer on the patient’s chest and directing it towards the heart, this advanced technology emits high-frequency sound waves and captures their echoes, converting them into electrical impulses. These impulses are then transformed into dynamic images of the heart, enabling our medical professionals to make accurate diagnosis and informed treatment decisions.
The First Open Heart Society is a remarkable group of individuals who share a deep passion for giving back to the heart health community. We encourage you to reach out to them, as they are actively seeking new members who can help expand their impact and contribute to raising even more funds to further enrich healthcare in our community.

Local couple donates back to Hospital Staff

Local couple donates back to Hospital Staff

Earlier this spring we had a new to Campbell River couple Patty and Chuck Reite visit our hospital on a regulars basis for some treatments, and they popped into our office to see if they could donate a spin bike to the CRG Staff Fitness Center as a thank you.
The CRG Fitness Center was delayed in opening due to Covid and other circumstances we had no control over, so when we opened it this year, the staff was so excited to be able to have a space 24 hours that they could access IN their workplace.
This is just one more amazing addition to that space and an extremely generous gift.
Thank you Patty and Chuck, you are so appreciated, and WELCOME to Campbell River!

Campbell River Italian Cultural Society Donates Critical Medical Equipment to Campbell River Hospital
The Campbell River Italian Cultural Society has taken a proactive step in enhancing local healthcare by donating funds towards the purchase of a Glidescope for the Respiratory Therapy Department at the Campbell River Hospital.
The Glidescope, a vital piece of airway management equipment, plays a pivotal role in providing physicians and Respiratory Therapists with the means to effectively manage routine procedures as well as respond swiftly to emergent airway situations. By offering a quick and confident solution, the Glidescope contributes to better patient outcomes and reduced airway trauma risks.
The funds for this equipment were raised through the Society’s Annual Italian Picnic held at Miracle Beach. The event drew support from the community, with approximately 260 tickets sold. Attendees enjoyed delicious spaghetti and sausage meals served by their members.
This donation is a testament to the power of community collaboration in making a meaningful impact on healthcare accessibility and quality. March For Children showed up in a big way!

March For Children showed up in a big way!

The Rotary Club Campbell River and Campbell River Daybreak Rotary clubs recently presented $14,350 to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation. These funds are the proceeds from the March for Children in February. This will support an Avalon Fetal Monitor for the Maternity department at the Campbell River Hospital.
The March for children is a project shared between the two clubs and has generated more than $447,570 since it began in the 1950’s.
The main objective of Rotary is service – in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Throughout their history, Campbell River Rotarians have continuously adopted the theme that Rotarians are committed to ” putting something back into the community.” This has resulted in millions of dollars and tens of thousands of volunteer hours into projects for the citizens of Campbell River.
Thank you to everyone that handed over their change to these lovely people on the busy intersections of town last month. It proves that every penny counts, and together we can raise thousands for Quality Healthcare, Close to Home.
