Campbell River Italian Cultural Society Donates Critical Medical Equipment to Campbell River Hospital
The Campbell River Italian Cultural Society has once again made a significant contribution to local healthcare by donating funds toward the purchase of a Laboratory Analyzer for the Campbell River Hospital.
A laboratory analyzer is a vital instrument that automatically measures and evaluates biological and physical properties of patient and donor samples. This advanced equipment allows laboratory staff to process multiple samples quickly and accurately, delivering essential data such as blood groups, antibody identification, and donor compatibility. By providing reliable results efficiently, the analyzer plays a critical role in patient care, supporting safe transfusions and helping manage donor and patient inventory.
The funds for this equipment were raised through the Society’s Annual Italian Picnic at Miracle Beach, which drew tremendous community support with approximately 260 tickets sold. Guests enjoyed a traditional spaghetti and sausage meal, lovingly prepared and served by Society members.
This generous donation demonstrates the profound impact of community-led efforts in advancing healthcare. The Campbell River Italian Cultural Society’s dedication ensures that residents of Campbell River continue to have access to accurate, timely, and life-saving diagnostics, right here at home.
You can support the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who serve our community every day. Help ensure that you and your loved ones continue to receive quality healthcare close to home by donating online at www.crhospitalfoundation.ca or calling 250-286-7164.
