Author Jennifer Butler Donates Royalties

December 12, 2019

Jennifer Butler recently presented the Hospital Foundation with a donation of $1200 to support the purchase of two Omni Hysterscopes for Campbell River Hospital Surgical Services.

The Hysterscope works with the Myosure Tissue Removal System, a removal is a hysterscopic treatment that targets and removes uterine tissue including fibroids and polyps.  This equipment will enable our Obstetric/Gynecological surgeons at Campbell River Hospital to assist  women suffering with abnormal bleeding symptoms without having to undergo major surgery and possibly removing the entire uterus.  These scopes support patient care by performing both a diagnostic and operative function in one in an all-in-one scope.

Jennifer is the Author of Boom & Bust:The Resilient Women of Historic Telegraph Cove and is donating all of the royalties from the first printing to two charities that support women and children in the North Island, the Campbell River and North Island Transition Society and Campbell River Hospital Foundation. The book chronicles the stories and memories of more than 25 women and their life in Telegraph Cove. From their lives come stories of resilience, resourcefulness, hearbreak, humour and triumph.  Boom and Bust are available for purchase at Coho Books and the Museum at Campbell River.
